A D400 manhole cover is a heavy-duty access cover designed to safely cover and protect openings to underground utilities, drainage systems, sewers, cable ducts, etc. It is engineered to withstand very high surface loads and frequent traffic without failing.

Load Class: D400 — means the cover is tested to resist a 400 kN load (approx. 40 tonnes / 40 000 kg).

Standard: Designed and tested to BS EN 124 (European standard for manhole covers and gully tops).
